Union Government approves opening of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at Gurdaspur and Fazilka

jawahar-navodaya-vidyalayaCabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has approved opening of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at Gurdaspur and Fazilka. Sharing this information in a press statement issued here, Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal thanked the Prime Minister and Union Human Resource Development Minister Mr. Prakash Javadekar. She said that Punjab has been benefitted maximum after the BJP-led NDA government came to power at the Centre as the state was “neglected” during the Congress-led UPA dispensation.
Divulging more, Mrs. Badal said that it was on record that NDA Government has given lion’s share of development projects to the state adding that no other government in the past has accorded such importance to the state in infra-structural projects. “NDA government has gifted an AIIMS, an IIM, Horticulture Research Institute of Excellence at Amritsar, Mega food parks and major road projects to the state”, said Mrs. Badal.
Highlighting the importance of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas approved for Gurdaspur and Fazilka, Mrs. Badal said that each these JNVs would provide employment to 47 people besides imparting the quality modern education to the talented children. She said that these JNVs would be residential and co-educational in nature; thus, each JNV will generate opportunities for the local vendors for supply of essential commodities like food, consumables, furniture, teaching material etc.
