GNDU Amritsar Amongst the best 25 institutions of the country GOI Ranking

GNDU AmritsarGuru Nanak Dev University has emerged amongst the top ranking institutions of the country, as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, GOI. GOI in its first such ranking gave 25th rank to GND University in the country amongst all Universities & institutes (both Govt & private). It is important to mention here that the GND University is regularly ranked among the top universities of the country, according to academic surveys conducted by various independent agencies. Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University credited the success to University faculty, scholars & students. Today in an interactive session with the Heads & Professors of the University, Dr Brar congratulated the faculty and urged them all to work for further improvement in this direction.
During this session Prof NS Sodhi, Director (Internal Quality Assurance Cell), apprised the staff of the method & procedure employed for such rankings. Talking about parameters for the ranking, Professor Sodhi said that the rankings were finalized on different parameters, such as graduate outcome; perception; research productivity, impact and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR); outreach and inclusivity and teaching, learning & resources. Guru Nanak Dev University stands at 1st position for graduate outcome, 13th for perception and 17th best University in research productivity, impact and IPR, he added.
Prof Brar informed the staff that the University Institute of Technology (UIT) would be established soon where courses of civil, mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering would be started. This shall be a great service in the field of professional education leading to more job opportunities for the youth of this region.
