Congress promises 33% reservation within the party for Dalits

punjab congressPunjab Pradesh Congress Committee President, Captian Amarinder Singh today assured Dalit voters saying that 33% of the chairmanship positions within the party will be reserved for Dalits. He also said that all communities will get due representation in ticket distribution.
Addressing a ‘Dalit Outreach’ programme organised by the SC Cell of the PCC, Captain Amarinder said, he was aware of the problems faced by the Dalit community. He said, the Akali-BJP government has discriminated and victimised the Dalits and that during his meetings with Dalit workers, he had found that they were not even being provided blue cards. The PCC president reiterated that only a Congress government will increase the Shagun scheme to Rs 51,000 as promised. He also said that the Dalit households will be provided 300 units of power free of cost.
