AAP gives 5 seats to Bains brothers for Punjab elections

aap-gives-5-seats-to-bains-brothers-for-punjab-electionsAam Aadmi Party (AAP) has given five seats to the Lok Insaf Party of the Bains brothers as a result of the tie-up between the two parties. Two former independent legislator brothers, the Bains brothers of Ludhiana, announced an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday. The AAP has given the brothers five seats to contest, the details of which will be announced soon.
Balwinder Singh Bains and Simarjeet Singh Bains had joined hands with cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu and former hockey captain Pargat Singh to form ‘Awaaz-e-Punjab’ in September only to go their own way now. The AeP is likely to merge with the Congress in the coming days.
Sources close to Bains brothers said Sidhu and Pargat were more inclined towards Congress. In the lack of this consensus, Bains brothers decided to part ways with Awaaz-e-Punjab. The move is said to have been engineered by AAP leader Gurpreet Singh Bhatti, who was once a close aide of Manpreet Singh Badal and was instrumental in Manpreet Badal’s Peoples Party of Punjab’s pact with Congress in Lok Sabha elections.
